British military watch from the 1940s or 1950s.This model was originally issued to engineers and crew of the Royal Navy working in the wheelhouse and engine room of battleships. Initially, an aluminum alloy case was used in the 1930s due to the strong magnetic fields around the engine, but as anti-magnetic metals began to be used for the engine cover itself, the case was changed to stainless steel. All of these crew watches have "H S↑C 103" (Hydrographic Survey Class) printed on the dial.
